Copyright in INDIA:All you have to know in a glance .



It has been a long time reading the word Copyright on books,websites etc..but don't know something about it other than its just a Right! Here its everything you have to know about Copyright in a glance.
Basically copyright is a group of rights given to a person with the help of law, which prevent spreading,reproduction or translation of a work without the permission of a particular person or group to which the copyright holds. It safeguards the right of an individual or group to publish their work without losing the credits over it.

You can individually as well as a group can apply for the copyright. A published or unpublished complete work can be applied for copyright. Copyright is granted to any kind of work but titles,names,ideas cannot be copyrighted as such.



 In INDIA, the copyright is issued by the COPYRIGHT OFFICE under the Govt Of India.The copyright office is headed by Registrar of copyright and the office is located at 4th floor Jeevan Deep Building, New Delhi-110001

 The application can be filed ONLINE as well as OFFLINE.

                         For online application visit e-Filing of copyright office.
                         For offline submit the work by person from 2;30pm to 4;30pm from Monday to Friday. Or by post in the prescribed format,

Along with the application the prescribed fee should be remitted in the accepted ways.

After the application is filed the work is examined and kept for a response for 30 days.During this period if an objection is raised by someone,they are analysed and solved by the Ministry by hearing the opinion from both the applicant and the opposition. After the discussion is closed successfully you are granted the copyright over that work.The ministry will Issue the Certificate in name of the applicant.

If the application is rejected due to the opposition or some other reason , the application fee is not refunded.
